This paper describes an architecture MADAME (MAcro DAtaflow MachinE) for supporting statically scheduled macro-dataflow. When dataflow program graphs can be statically scheduled, little run-time overhead (software or hardware) is necessary. A subclass of dataflow program graphs lacking data dependency (digital signal processing and some other scientific computation) is well suited to static (compile-time) scheduling.
