An application of the information theory in test minimization.
Proc. TEST'90 Conf., pp.72-78, London, UK, April 1990.
The paper deals with the problem of deriving efficient fault location procedures based on the information theory. The approach to test minimization stems from the one proposed by Brule et al., with the main difference in the way of collecting the information that is relevant for the construction of a test diagram. Instead of computing the probability of a test to pass from the failure rate of the tested elements, it is obtained directly by collecting the past test results for each test point. In this way a simple troubleshooting system with an adaptive test diagram can be implemented.
